I'm getting tired of 10 psi on a stock LS, so I'm building something else...

anyway, I'm going with eagle rods, ARP bolts, ARP head studs, crower cams/valvetrain, PNP head...the works etc etc, thinking of running 20 pounds on a t3/t4.

My question is how high can I let this thing rev, I know the stroke on the LS crank is bigger than all the others just about so I don't wanna over spin this thing.

if you do some headwork and upgrade the valve train and change out the intake manifold and change the cams you can make good power up to 8000+rpm and be perfectly safe.

buy the head im selling and it will make good power (link in sig)

I wouldn't take it past 8400 with eagle rods, so 8k seems good enough.

 

then why buy eagle rods for if stock rods can handle 8k already. why not just stick to stock rods

Power... not rev limited.

 

you'll be fine reving to where ever it stops making power.... as long as its put together right

 

dont stock rods can handle 250-300 hp??

 

stock rods tend to let go between 260-300

 

we have seen 9,000 rpms on the data logs. the shift light is set from 8,300 to 8,500. the rods are 3 years old with a new set of rod bolts with this season. the biggest thing is bearing clearances, oil pressure, and balancing.

Look at your pinkie finger. The width of your pinkie is about five times greater than the difference in stroke between the LS and GSR crankshafts. Honestly, the stroke has very little to do with how high you can rev the motor when you're talking about a still small stroke like 89mm. Rev it as high as you make power, which I can't see being much past 8000 RPM's with an LS head.
