storing an engine?

Default storing an engine?

you guys know what the proper way to store an engine during the winter? i have no garage but a small shed in the back. the winters are crazy in new york gets to like -5 sometimes. so any advice on location and stuff like that for storing an engine.

Make sure you coat EVERYTHING with a light smear of enging oil or anti-rust spray and wrap it all up, tightly.

they sell this stuff in marine shops since boats sit outside in the winter, its called fogging oil, take spark plug out and spray inside prevents rings from sticking or rusting also prevents moisture build up, they also sell these things that screw into the sparkplug holes that kinda time release the stuff that works too, fill up the gas tank to top or completely drain so moisture doesnt condense inside

Engine's don't have gas tanks. But if you were storing a car then this would be a good idea. And to add to that, in the spring when said car is removed from storage it is a good idea to put a small amount of alcohol in the tank to dry any moisture that has possibly entered.

thanks guys..wondering why im buying one now and planning a swap later? well im getting a good deal on a b16a2 in a 2000 si it comes with tranny 17k miles, intergra type r cams, full crower valve train, stage 2 port and polish, fidanza 8 lbs. flywheel, exedy stage 2 clutch, chiped p72. built for turbo set up the guy wants it 1800 for it becuase he wants to go all motor now.

but i thought engines had tank if the swap is clean enough you could just stick it somewhere in your house so its heated
