Most additives are garbage. This is also garbage. I used it a LOOOONG time ago (lol when i was too young to know better) on my KA24E in my S13. Didnt do anything, and i've heard that it can actually hurt more than it helps. I think it thickens your oil. This makes all the gaps in your engine larger....which is fine when you have thick oil in there....but your car will start to depend on this crap. If your car runs fine, there's no reason to do anything but regular scheduled maintainence.

you obviously didn't use RESTORE if you used something that thickened the oil.
you obviously didn't use RESTORE if it made all the gaps in the engine larger (this would be a chlorinated paraffin if it knocked off all the high points. RESTORE doesn't thicken oil in any way and it also doesn't knock off protruding asperities (high points). So you are simply mistaken and you obviously didn't use RESTORE. RESTORE contains copper lead particles that fill in scratches and remetalizes your engine. It works great in all engines. hope you don't mind me correcting you. thanks dave

So magically it's like having a new set of rings that won't smoke anymore,
along with a clean bore for each cylinder?

I have been using marvel mystery oil for sometime now also. About 14 years off and on.

It is the only additive I will use for gas and oil. Outside of Lucas oil stabalizer. Little bit goes a long ways.

The guy I bought my car from seafoamed and it destroyed my valve seals, rear main seal and some other gaskets.

I stay away from seafoam. Far away.

Might as well clean your car out with brake cleaner.
