I haven't seen the F20C to be really torquey even when turboed. Torque is just a factor for HP caculation anyway. HP wins races. Don't start a flame either I aint doin it. Thanks in advance.

You're an idiot. Torque wins races and HP is a simple derivative thereof, not the other way around. Horsepower isn't dick without torque behind it.

hes not an idiot, and HP is not a derivative of torque (just like torque is not a derivative of horsepower). Horsepower is simply a function of torque

i saw an example in a magazine a few years ago i think it was car and driver. They had a vette engine putting down 350 lb ft torque at 4500 rpm and another making 300 at 7000 rpm these were the peak. Guess which one was faster? The one making more high rpm power now someone do the math and figure out the hp numbers. First engine made around 300 hp second engine made over 450 hp. I agree with geoff wholeheartidly.

torque is rotational force, horsepower is a number representing an amount of work. a motor puts out torque and rpms. the horsepower is the result of these two. so if your saying torque wins races, your partially right, but how many high speed 800 ft/lbs desiels do you see out there. if your saying horsepower wins races, you may as well be saying doing lots of work, gets work done.

So maybe I got off track a little. It is a combination of the two cuz you can't have one without the other. See and I asked to not flame and look what I get. It takes both and some vehicles use one over the other to get down the track for a quick time. I seen high hp with good time and like the diesels it is all tq.
