fuel pump

ok another question. if u hear the fuel pump, does it mean its working good? i hear it when i turn the key. i try starting the ef and its just turning over but no start. after a while i smell fuel. thanks

You might not have spark if you can hear the pump and smell fuel. Have you checked for spark yet?

yea, pull one of the spark plug wires off of the dizzy and turn the car over to see if there is spark.

Or you can pull one of the spark plugs out and stick it back in the wire then hold the plug really close to one of the valve cover bolts and check for spark while someont else is cranking the motor
