thanks.. this tells me how to tighten it but how do you loosen after what i have done?

 

Is your motor on TDC before you remove the head or put back in?
IF the motor is on TDC then just loosen the belt tensioner bolt and slide the timing belt off.

well the cam gears were at top dead center when i took the head off. but like i said i moved the crankshaft pulley clockwise after i loosen the tensioner bolt and it tighten the belt so now im trying to figure out how to get it loose again without the head on the block so i have space to stick the cam gears and cams in. do i just pull the timing belt up while the tensioner bolt is loose or something? im just confused on how to get the belt loose at this point. thanks

 

yes, you can pull the timing belt up when the tensioner bolt is loose.
This is how I do it.
1. put head back in
2. install cams and cam caps
3. align the cam gears for TDC and make sure crank pulley is at TDC.
4. install timing belt by pulling timing belt up and slide onto the cam gears. Make sure the tensioner bolt is loose.

you are a GENIUS if this works! i will try tomorrow.. hopefully it does. also how would i torque down the cam gears to the camshafts? wrap it in a towel and put it in a vice? thanks

 

you can wrap it in towel and do it that way.
