I have a stock 97 GSR and no mods at cold start my rpm is shooting up to 2500 and going down and then at 2000-2100 it fluctuates up and down and when the car is at normal temp it's at 1100. It drives fine and a stop light is at 800 rpms which is normal hits vtec fine no check engine light I'm wondering what is the problem ...?

 

Check your IACV or FITV, both of these can cause the fluctuating idle problems we all hate so much. good luck

 

i have the same problem too. but i was told that it could be the IAT sensor is dirty.

i had that same problem, my thermo valve was fubared, apparently it just unscrewed it self.

i have the same problem still... i would think that my problem might me my iacv
i cleaned my TB so i guess its my IACV(idle air control valves).. bump bump...
i still dont understand why it doing thats it was working fine before? so i bump again!!

had the same thing and after hours of searching i found this and posted it on TI FITV take it off of your TB and screw in the white plastic part and it will be fixed
