Is this an ignition problem?
<i tried searching but couldn't find an answer>
I turn my key to start my car and there is just a click noise. The first time this happen i tried giving it a jump start and it still wouldn't start. Now it will start but if at first there is nothing but just a click i have to bang on the steering column then try again and it usually starts. Also once i get it started i hear a low motor kinda noise i never heard before. any idea? it is a 95 gsr.

Definetly does sound like a starter, I doubt banging on the steering column has anything to do with the car finally starting, in regards to the noise I also doubt its related. Id say diag the no start first and go from there
Cant be the batt coz you already try to jump start but did not work, main solinoid has contact coz sometimes it starts so i would have to go with the starter.
Sounds very like a starter all right, but the bump on the steering colume could suggest a loose connection on the ignition barrel, just pull off the covers and have a look, maybe even wiggle the loom about a bit while you turn the key. Good luck
