SHORT RAM vs CAI
....not this again. Do a quick search......seriously - you'll find all the info you need.
To answer your question, get an EBAY intake....short ram or CAI, it doesn't matter....they'll both end up producing equal horsepower because they both have their pros and cons........

Short Ram=Low end power
CAI=High end power
Short Ram=Less likely to suck up water
CAI=More likely to suck up water, but leave in a lower gear, to lower the risk of it happening

I've heard that the bypass valve negates any gains that a CAI would have over a short ram(Read this in sport compact a few years back). I still think the Best is a short ram which you isolate from the heat and have it draw in cool air from a fender, front bumper, hood scoop
...well you get the point
EDIT: Also besides saying that...
CAI=High End Power
SRI=Low End power
...It should also be said that
SRI=Better throttle response.
ANOTHER EDIT: Also, it depends who you ask, but some people believe that SRIs provide high end power and CAIs provide low end power, which completely goes against the grain of what's being said in here. I guess their logic is that at the higher revs you are moving air very quickly and that it can get through a 1 1/2 foot pipe and into your engine quicker then it can get through a 3 1/2 foot pipe and into your engine. Just thought I'd through that out there
