my friends 05 civic se is having trouble reading mileage, it does not put the correct mileage on the odometer. it puts way too many miles on the odo do go somewhere when compared to another cars mileage to the same place.

the gas guage also fluctuates up and down. honda has replaced the guage and it sill does it.

the air bag light has now come on for no appearant reason also.

has anyone else had these problems? or similar? has anyone ever checked to see if thier odometer is reading correctly?

 

Well, try to replace the gauge two more times to qualify it under the lemon law. SRS lights seem to be popular with the ES2/EM2.

 

could be bad ECU...I would try and get a new car because that sounds bad.

 

our odometers/speedometers are inaccurate as it is. you could try a gauge cluster diagnostic test, but it won't do much.

and the 7thgen sedan DX/LX/acura 1.7 EL chassis code is ES1, while the EX is an ES2

 

if the wheel/tire size he's running is different than stock, that could play into if his odometer/speedometer is off a little bit.

 

the car is stock, the gas guage has been replaced once by honda already, i am going to go with my friend to honda and tell them to check the wiring and guage cluster, maybe replace it, since its under warranty...im good friends with the dealership

so no one else has had this problem?
