ok just did a clutch change, i torqued the flywheel bolts down to spec but i did not have the socket adapter to be able to torque the pressure plate to 19 pounds so what i did was i just guessed it and did the best i could to put it on with a reasonable amount of force

i put the motor and tranny back in the car
if the car is shut off it takes all gears

once i turn the car on i can put it in first and second but when i disengage the clutch i dont go anywhere so its like i'm not even in gear

i can shift into third and 4th gear but theres a noise that sounds like the clutch is spinning or rubbing against the pressure plate or flywheel

i cannot shift into fifth or reverse


i just did a tranny fluid change and when the car is on it leaks a little bit by the drain plug, i was told that it is normal because it just gets rid of excess oil i put in 2.5 quarts of mtf

i have not bled my clutch cylinder but i did top it off with dot4 brake fluid and the clutch pedal is nice and firm

nopw the car wont go into any gears at all, i checked the clutch slave cyulinder its fine,
could it be that the throw out bearing is not aligned on the fork right????

could it be my linkage???

could it be the pilot bearing

this is a new tranny with new clutch and flywheel

how can i trouble shoot this????

 

is it hitting your exhaust...i know w/ someppl who cant get it into reverse the shifter hits the exhaust so check that i gues?
