Ok so im in the middle of rebuilding my head and replacing a leaking head gasket. And I noticed wear marks on the cam journals. Im a bit worried about this. The lobes and rockings show no sign of marks. And when I run my finger nail across the cams it still feels smooth. Let me know what you guys think.

yea as long as there are no deep gashes or scratches you should be ok!

Take it easy on the RVT! to much will get in the motor and all your bearings will look like that!

That is the norm for cams though.

 

yeah i know, i normally dont use gasket sealer on the cam seals, but they were leaking and I was hoping for a quick fix, but i ended up getting new cam seals anyway.
