Default CRX Suspension/chassi autoX

Hey, I'm Currently working a 91 crx Daily driver/autocross car until I can get all the information I need to Build a Full on autocross car. For my daily driver I have parts that include:

KYB GR2 shocks
Eibach Sportline springs
Suspension techniques sway bar kit
Energy Master bushing kit
Tanabe Front and rear strut tower bars
Eibach Allignment kit (Rear)

I'm looking into some other parts such as:

Tie rod ends
Adjustable front uper control arms
Tension rods
Willwood Rotor upgrade
Calipers of some sort not sure atm( I heard spoon makes some?)
Not sure on what kinda tire to use ( potenza,proxes,Yokohama's...etc.)
Rims not sure (I was looking into Rota SS's but I've heard to many bad things kina scary so maybe spoons if i can find a set of used 1's)

ANY information is welcomed, Keep in mind this is my daily driver (But Please feel free to comment if you think the choices I Made In This setup were wrong or could be better) and I'm looking for input on a car I'm about to Invest a lot of money and time into building. I purchased a 91 shell and am in the process of stitch welding it, so any Strengthening Information is welcomed to.

Thanks for the help

I'd strongly suggest doing 2 things before anything else:

1) Get a rule book for the sanctioning body you plan on autocrossing with. If the group you run with is an SCCA region or bases its rules off the SCCA Solo Rules, download it from the main site http://www.scca.org/_filelibra...s.pdf.

Read through all the classes, well at least "Stock", "Street Touring", "Street Prepared" and "Street Modified". Look at the progression of allowable mods and factor in your budget.

2) Go out to a local autocross event; watch, listen and ask questions. Tell someone at the registration desk that you wanted to see what its all about and they'll probably have someone who will give you a "tour".

I'm guessing you may have not run an event yet, this would be the 3rd thing I'd suggest before making any changes at all.

If you do those things first, you'll get an idea where your car will be classed. Then you're going to see what is/isn't allowed for that class. And of the mods that are allowed, what will net you the most time. What most people find out, is that driver-mod is the area where they pick up the most initially.

I'm going to use the "street prepared class." Should I you something like the AGX's?

For autocrossing a CRX, some new "Sport" brake pads and DOT-4 fluid should be sufficient upgrades for the brakes...at least that's what almost all the fastest cars have been using in STS for years. That saves some money you can put into more important things like:

Try to get Koni Yellows if you can afford them. They have excellent adjustability range and can handle some higher spring rates for a longer time. They are also rebuildable.

I'd also recommend staying away from a fixed kit like the sportlines and going with a full Ground Control Coilover kit. You can specify exactly the spring rates you want, and you can set your ride hieght to your tastes.

A customized Ground Control kit with Koni Yellows can be had from redshiftmotorsports.com for $790 last time I checked, and you'd be buying from the guy who has arguably contributed more to autocrossing Honda's than anyone else ever.

That said, I have the GC/Koni setup with 400front/450rear and I love it. I had 500rear for a while and it was too harsh for my daily driving, plus I was having problems spinning too often even with the konis on full-soft and the rear SuspTech bar on full soft. The 450s have helped make the car much more predictable and controllable, and I can dial in more or less oversteer with the shocks or bar.

I would not recommend buying the front SuspTech bar... the stock bar is fine with new bushings applied. You'll want to replace all the control arm bushings that you can afford to with Honda rubber...especially considering its your daily driver. The rear trailing arms are much better if you go with Honda or Mugen.

Wheels and tires will be determined largely by the class you end up in. XrcR6's advice is sound, go drive, have fun, suck at it, have more fun, get better, repeat, repeat, then start buying goodies.

yeh koni yellows with custom GC kit are great or omni full coilover race spring rate. stiff rear sway, no front sway if any then crx HF. list goes on invest into the Kirks racing roll bar for good chasis support.

15x7 kosei k1/t1s wheels
205/50/15(less to more)falken azenis tires, bfg traction t/a, kuhmo victroracers tires

depending on class. 13x7 wheels with hoosiers

Why no sway bar..? I Just called inlinefour there sending me a set of Tokico illuminas. I've heard that the illuminas are good as well as yellows but freinds I've talked to, have said they didn’t like there yellows. So I'm going to give the illuminas a try.
thanks for allthe help guys
