Help having problems w/ installing new rotors
Ok so I bought this 95 GSR shell that had been sitting for about 3 years. I dropped a motor in everything is good except the breaks. So I bought new break pads put them on bleed the breaks and still the breaks sucked. So I bleed the breaks again and again w/ no improvment. So I saw that my rotors were sort of damaged because the dumb *** i bought the car from put the break pads on wrong. So I bought the driver side front caliper because the old one was bad installed it and still breaks sucked. So I finally decided to buy rotors, i really hope this will solve the problem. I took off the caliper and the 4 bolts that hold it two 14mm and two 17mm then the 2 screws that hold the rotor on. The only problem was i couldnt get the damn rotor off i tried hammering it but nothing It was on tight what should i do ?
you shouldn't have got "broken" pads... haha... anyway... i'd say that your power brake booster is bad... As far as the rotor problem of removing them is concerned... don't go crazy and just start beating the **** out of them... apply force equally.. don't just pull/hammer on one side, do the other at the same time... but i'd say the problem with the poor braking is the booster.
what exactly is the car doing when you brake? If it is the rotors and you try to pull them off by both sides with equal force you can just make plans right now to be there all night. You can hit one side and then switch to the other until it breaks loose.
Hammer harder or use the jacking screw holes. There are 4 holes in the rotor hat... 2 for the rotor screws and 2 to use a jacking screws. Insert M8 (I think) screws and screw in... this will force the rotor off the hub.
PS: Only works for the front rotors... rear hubs are different, there holes where the jacking screws are push against the hub.

you did remove the screws that hols the rotor on right?????
With thoses screws off you will need to run a screw back into the threaed side of the rotor, this will pull the rotor right off. Real easy.
You will need an impact screwdrive to remove the screws, if they strip them you will have to drill the heads off. Not a big deal. I stripped mine before I bought the impact driver.

i just did my brake caliper upgrade about a month ago, go out to ACE, HOME-DEPOT and get ureself a manual impact wrench!!. this works good but you still have to hammer it, this tool provides the low torque and turn that you will need. Also if you/friend have a torch this is the best tool to used. it takes about 1 min on each screw with the torch. Hope this helps
