2 problems that popped up after the VIR event in my ITR....
1st. Everytime I shifted to 5th on track the gears or synchros would crunch...i wasn't shifting fast at all, and i was allowing the rpms to drop before i put the lever into gear, so i have no clue what the problem is. It only happened on track, on the drive home it would go into 5th sm00thly. Any ideas?
2nd. When I accelerate the parking brake light comes on, when i lift off it turns off after 2 seconds or so...this one really baffles me.
Anyone has similar problems, or has any solutions to offer me?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Change tranny fluid? It's waaaaaay to new for that to be bad though
Not sure what else could be wrong.
Do you have the Helm's manual? Check where the sensor for the parking brake light is, maybe there's something loose there. That is quite a mysterious problem...

Only in cold weather, my e-brake light sometimes stays on. It was noticed with other Integra models as well, but never a real answer to fix.

WOW! Shifting into 5th? what track is that! (unless you have a different FD)
The light means that you might be low on brake fluid.

On my ITR, the fluid can be well above the MIN line and I'll still get the brake light... it needs to be all the way topped off.

We have a couple almost 3 mile courses (but not very long straights) and I have yet to use fifth.. maybe I am just slow?
5th gear on front straight
under the bridge in the uphill esses
back straight!!
long tracks are nice for the high HP cars but i love reeling them in!

Devil Chicken - try fixing the top of your brake fluid reservoir on safely. I had that problem too, it turned out to be my brake reservoir top was loose.
Aight, the brake fluid is most likely the culprit in this case, I will check and add fluid as necessary tonite.
As for the tranny, I just changed the fluid before the track event with Honda MTF, maybe its a little low, I'll try adding some more when I get around to it.
Thanks for the help guys!
PS. I hit 5th coming down the back straight, and coming down the front straight on VIR....much fun!

-a little bit before the worker stand on the left on the back straight (before the crest)
-passing the tree after start/finish, just before pit-out, on the front straight
Will

-who likes 120+ speeds on track
5th:

-Matt, who got passed by Will during Matt's first session out and probably seem unusually slow to him
Dont worry, I was way faster during my later sessions

Prelude @ VIR
Hits 5th under bridge before uphill esses
Hits 5th when starting to go up the hill on the back stretch
Hits 5th a 100yards before the start finish line..
And this is with my long ratio, 5th generation prelude tranny.. If I put the 4th gen tranny in, It would be even sooner, but my top speed would be only 140, and I hit 130 on the straights the way the car is now...

What about a tired clutch lining? If the clutch overheats a bit then you might not get a good release. Only a guess!
