Default Turbo car tuners: Ignition question

On cars making 300 plus horsepower, what total ignition timing advance do you have a redline?

Always depends on the motor and the ammount of boost, compression and gas. The question is to vague.

Thank you DRAGLS and Hella_JDM, those were the kind of short answers I'm looking for...

If you're running flat timing you're missing out on a lot of power.

Again, thanks DRAGLS. I know I'm asking a pretty vague question, but I'm trying to determine optimum ingition advance before I get to intalling an EGT gauge and a knock sensor on my LS block.

Anyone with EGT gauges, what temps are you running at the end of a quarter mile?

my comment was based on the numbers people were throwing out there. They were comparable to what I'd run for timing at peak torque, NOT at redline.

On a serious note, if you want an example of what I'm talking about with regards to timing, take a look at the dyno graph in this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1289876

The car is running 23 degrees timing@ torque peak @11psi. The car is running a whole hell of a lot more timing at redline. You look at the torque curve er line and be the judge.

I'd get flamed and/or stoned if I were to actually say how much "total timing" I run at 8500 RPM... The bandwagon would hit me and then reverse to run me over again...

And guess what... the car runs great.
