Default Shifting problems

I drove my friends crx the other day and when i shifted it didn't feel like the clutch was disengaged all the way. The same thing happens with my S-10. I push in the clutch and shift but sometimes it makes a grinding sound. Sometimes worse than others. Sometimes when i try to shift it grinds real loud and i have to put it back in neutral then try to shift again. It grinds real loud sometimes when i put it in reverse while moving or put it into first (or second) while I'm going to fast for that gear and am planning to reduce my speed. I didn't think it should matter if i have the clutch pushed in. (so in other words i push in the clutch shift to first(or second) keep the clutch in and press the breaks. But sometimes when i shift to the lower it grind as if i was going to fast for that gear but I have the clutch in so why
does it matter?) Thanks

edit: It has a new clutch.

Yes i am engaging the clutch all the way. And I don't drive like its an s2000. I don't race around in it. I drive it like its supposed to be driven.

Reverse is not synchronized. No matter whether the clutch is in or not the transmission is still spinning. There is nothing wrong with your S10 or that CRX you just need to learn how to drive.

It's a T5, they all do. Nothing you can do about it.
