AutoMeter Electric Oil Pressure Gauge with Plastic Line?
Hey guys, I'm currently running an electric AutoMeter Phantom Oil pressure Gauge (0-100) on my LS-VTEC. The set up I was using had the sending unit mounted up near the valve cover, because I was instructed not to mount to the body because the engine tends to move around a bit and I didn't want to put any stress on the oil line between the feed (where the original Honda oil pressure sensor was) and the sending unit.
Needless to say, I was very disappointed using the copper line. I constantly had leaks and the small little bead that fit inside was a hassle. Everyone says go with mechanical instead of electric, but I had the electric already so I went with that and just bought the copper hose.
Well now I'm tired of leaks, and tired of fixing it. My friend Greg says he uses a plastic line on his Typhoon, and I'm wondering if there is a way I can hook that up to my set up instead of the annoying copper wire.
I know braided is best but it's also the most expensive and I don't know if I can get it for an electric gauge so does anyone know if this plastic set up will fit onto my exhisting set up?

I have an electronic oil pressure gauge, but I don't have any oil lines running to it, just a wire from the sender. You sure you don't have a mechanical gauge?
Edit: I misinterpreted your post. Sorry. I would just get a SS braided line and be done with it. Use teflon tape at the connections and you should be leak free.

The only reason you shouldn't mount the sender with or without the original honda sender (both electric) directly to the block is because the weight of the assembly tends to work harden the brass and it cracks off (vibration) The best thing to do is run it to the firewall and get yourself some -4an stainless braided tubing either with teflon or without and get the appropriate fittings--you will never have a leak and it will last indefinatley!
