Exhaust Rattling
sup peoples? I just installed a (CTR spec) Buddy Club Spec IV on my EP mated with a dc race header (rsx-s) and I seem to be gettin alot of bumping/vibrations/rattling. anything out there i can use to reduce this noise plus withstand heat?

i had the same problem and thermo warp didnt do anything..i was hoping it would provide somewhat of a coushin..but it didnt do much...the only way i fixed was i got a flexible raidator hose, cut it open pulled out the spring and wrapped it around the midpipe where its hitting....but thats only temporary till i get a new hanger wleded on..the only downside of the radiator hose is the smell of burnt rubber everytime u get out...but its a cheap easy temprorary fix...but your best bet would be take it to a good muffler shop and wled a hanger where necessary to keep it from moving and banging

If I didn't raise it, it'd probably be resting on the rear LCA. AND.... because the piping is raised, it also hits the undercarriage. I put on the stock type S exhaust and no more rattling!! But my car sounds boring now lol.</TD></TR></TABLE>
my resonator is hanging pretty low to the ground and the bpipe just barely clears under the chassis so i dunno what i can do about that..but Last night I was thinking of all sorts of things to make the noises go away and I came up with some things that might actually work. Im going out to buy the supplies today and will start working on it as soon as the weather clears up..having no garage sucks

I remember that two guys with European spec CTRs encountered major difficulties tyring to fit the BC Spec IV on their cars. There was a solution for this rattling problem, if I can find I will post it here for you. IIRC he had some custom hangers welded to the pipe.

This is what a guy from Sweden wrote on another forum how he solved his BC Spec IV problems...
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The problem was that the front section was as you say hitting the underside of the car. My problems were solved by the mechanic, that first took a dremel and did the holes larger so he could twist the front section away a bit so it would get more space. To be on the safe side he also "modified" the pipe with a few gentle nods in the area were it had hit the chassis. Finally we removed the springs that connect front and rear pipe, and connected them with a tubeclip ( dont know the english word for that so its a direct translation from swedish ). </TD></TR></TABLE>

hmmm... if any buddy club exhaust, i would personally go with spec 2... not a clue why... but it attracted me somehow... if not that prolly spec 3... it is a little longer then the pro spec so.. it wont burn up your lower rear bumper :]
damn acura really messed up on this new mount settup this year didn't they? would urethane inserts fix this sloppy engine movement? or do they need to recall like every car so they can fix their fug up?
