im bought to get a new trans and clutch . i know i need to resurface my flywheel. but i want to shave some wieght off it to . how low can i get the wieght .without loosing torque.i was told 12 would do some good.

 

depending on how much power your motor is putting out, a lightened stock flywheel should be just fine. the problem with lightening the stock flywheel is to keep enough on it so that it stays stong and doesnt lose integrity. 12 lbs, to me, is perfect for daily street use and you wont lose torque. thats exactly what i plan on doing.

i was told by a dependable and reputable machine shop that a lightened stock honda flywheel is good to about 200whp. thats just a ballpark figure i would imagine. the last thing you need is a shattered flywheel...bad things for you and your motor.
