Default So go in to all these places to fix my cars various problems...

Rear brakes are a bitch, and I definatly need new shoes.. So for drum resurfacing, and rear brake shoes installed at midas its $180 with tax.

Then I HAVE to get my front windshield replaced, and thats gonna be like $190 installed. Then probley gonna have to replace the seal around the window so whatever that costs.

And today I go in to get an alignment, im down there with the pit tech and I am just making sure he knows where the Toe adjustments are, and we go to the front of the car, and he sees my cracked cv boot, and lifts the front end up to check and see how my wheel bearings are doing. And the driver side wheel is totally loose, like you can literally rock it back and forth. So im going to need a new remanufactured axle, and wheel bearings, and an alignment. He quoted me about $350 with tax and labor. UGH im about to spend another G on this civic, ***** just crazy

And stupid car toys, I go in to get a quote on an alarm and they are like ok $650 installed with door actuators (power door locks), I WAS LIKE WTF. I picked a $250 dollar alarm, and it said PRICE INCLUDES INSTALLATION. YO WTF. So **** car toys, I dunno how those slick kids stack up $400 on top of the price installed. They are like do you know how much door actuators cost? I was like ya 30 bucks, they are like NO MORE THAN THAT, AND YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR INSTALL. I was like whatever F that. I have to find a decent place now thats going to give me a good deal on an alarm. Cus that **** was just whack. and they were supposed to be having a "tent sale" whatever.. I guess some peope bite, but not me. Thats rediculus, even with a 4 year warentee.

/End rant

I feel your pain. My brakes sucked a fat donkey dick until i redid the whole thing. A nice full disc conversion in the back set me back about $300 up front, but I have to change the pads less, and it takes less time to get the rotors machined.

I have been through the windsheild game as well, and it cost me $250 installed with new seal. The dude did it in about an hour, I went out a smoked my brains out while I was waiting.

As far as alarms are concerned, you really do get what you pay for. I have a damaged front end, so nobody gives a **** about my car! No alarm needed, just have a mini truck hit your bumper hard enough to cause body damage and leave the structure the same. Guaranteed no chump is gonna take your ride!

but then again, you won't want to drive it either after putting up with that ****

Just think, it could be a junkyard queen like mine that had to be rescued and rebuilt; that was way more work than I thought it would be.

get a nice VIPER without the lock motors, should set you back with install about $600. I think it's the Series 700 or something close to that. One of the best on the market and for the price you get the pager to tell you what set the alarm off.

Check here
http://www.drdetailshop.com/viper.htm

They have all types or alarms and brands, and they could give you a good idea of how much it might cost you.

damn sounds like me about 2 years ago.

needed new rear pads, but brake masters said "we can't touch them, they are cutting into the rotor" so i had to learn how to do brakes. About $100 later i learned brakes and i can do that now.

Then i go to get my allignment

They tell me i need new axles on both side, and they don't want to do an allignment because it could mess up the sxles (WTF?)

then my landlord got drunk and pissed and beat my *** down while i was in my CRX and broke the windshield. I had to pay the $200 to install that too.

THEN the timing belt went, and i had to pay some guy i thought i was helping out $500 to do it...he adjusted the valves wrong and one ended up lossing a valve head on the way to work.

9 months later and alot of walking i got my DOHC ZC and i'm so very happy with it. Its been so much better than that d16, and next month i'm gonna be trying out this turbo thing

Good on you, man. At least there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

I still have some under the hood work and some body work to be done, but I just finished my interior, brakes and suspension systems.

I just hope I can get a decent swap so I can get rid of that POS DPFI setup!!

I just want a DOHC ZC with 5 spd and a cold-air and I would be very happy!

um do the labor yourself you should be able to do everything but the alignment by yourself its not that hard, you would probably save $500
