this is not a brake related. i have a 89 dx so my car doesn't have rpm, whenever i'm at a red light my steering wheel shakes very violently. so far i have changed spark plugs and oil change when i bought the car two months ago. any wizards would like to let me know what's wrong?

This same thing is happening to me when I decelerate. Doesn't matter what gear I'm in, but if I just let my foot off the gas and coast,...the lower the RPM's go, the more it wants to shake. If I down-shift it goes away until the RPM's fall lower in that gear (no lower than 1k RPM...) Think bad motor mounts?
My 89 dx hatch 5 speed same thing. Idle's below 700 and shakes like a bit#@.
Took a look and the front mount rubber is torn. I think the ecu holds the idle steady even if you adjust.

unplug the idle ajust motor it has a blk/yel wire and a blu. (on drivers side near cly 1 DPFI) MPFI is on the back pass. side. any way unplughthis and u'llset a code 14 and then adjust idle to 650 base idle. plug it back in and reset computer. idle should now be bout 750. thats normal
