i had a b16 w/ aem cold air intake, skunk 2cat back exaust, and clutch masters stage 3 clutch on SI wheels i ran my best was a 15.3 i wasnt happy w the results. I had it done by a shop and payed crazy money if i could do it over i would have put in a gsr or ls vtec like i have now
one it will be too fast, second you'll end up crashing it, third if you made it through the wreck you'd be messed up for life and if you didn't make it through then your family and friends would goto your funeral, oh wait you don't have any friends.
But we do have this forum called "hybrid" and it's for all your swap questions and maybe you'll make some friends over there, anyways this forum is only 92-00 civic/del sol model specific. If you need further assistance please read the rules and guidelines that are stickied at the top of this forum.

Teh W|nN@r!!
No, seriously, B16s have wonderful gearing. You'll love that. But if you're not in VTEC they are about as fast as a pile of poo.
Thats why I'd prefer an LS motor with B16 tranny to a B16.

Or get it, and build a nice LS or CRV bottom end for it and love the torque.
<-- I'm a big fan of B16 heads & B16 transmissions

A nice LS would cost the same and you will have some decent torque over the B16.
Im in the same position right now with my 92 hatchback...
im debating the LS swap or the GSR swap...
I am thinking the GSR has the best of all "honda worlds" though...i mean 1.8, VTEC, nice gearing, etc....
My opinion get a GSR swap....worth it, and you will be much happier, or do LS/Vtec

^^^ R motor or nothing.
Seriously though...I'de go with an LS over a B16 for your first swap. I had an LS and I switched to a B16B a while back....the LS is a very very strong motor for what it is.

You're talking about a 94+ GSR? I'd rather have B16 gearing.
Unless it was turbo, I might prefer the GSR tranny more.
Or if you're talking B17, then yes, YS1 tranny ownz j00!
The way I see it, with a B16 swap, you've got everything you need for the LS/VTEC, except for the LS. Buy one, then get the conversion and an LS block, and work the LS block before you put it in the car. At the very least, ARP rod bolts.

LS w/ B16 tranny > B16 w/ B16 tranny.
(In the same car)

I love those motors. My buddy pulled one out of a car that had been rusting for 5 years, the motor had 130k on it, then IHE, adn a 15 minute VAFC tune it put over 160 to the wheels. Absolutely amazing.
