2 Quick Questions...
I'm thinking about buying a 1998 (Canadian) Civic SI.
Just a couple of quick questions...
1) Did all SI's come fully loaded with A/C as standard?
2) On cars without A/C (a DX for example), is there still a switch on the dash that says A/C, but the button just doesn't press in, or do non-a/c cars not have any button at all?
-- I'm trying to figure out if this car HAD a/c, but the lines and compressor were just taken off. If so, then I can just buy those parts and put them on. If not, I don't want to be messing around with installing the box under the dash and the wiring etc. etc.
3) Did all SI's come with drum brakes in the back, not discs?
Thanks!

98 si's have a/c and rear disc... y don't u look to see if the lines are still there?? compressor, belt and bracket are easy... the lines are a pain in the ***....if the lines aren't there take 2g's off the price....
Someone once told me that the SI's were discontinued in the States... that's why I'm wondering if these specific cars had these specific features...

umm....follow the lines where the a/c compressor hooks up on the right side....(they are two silver lines that go to the front of the engine bay infront or behind the radiator, to the left then back to the firewall) take it to a honda dealership b4 u buy it... or compare it to a civic with ac.... and...i doubt the person removed the ac core on the inside of the car cuz thats another pain in the *** job... anyhow.. you can remove your glove box...or just try and look under.. there will be 2 radiator looking things.. ones your heater core and your ac core....i can almost garuantee its still there...the smaller one is your ac core....like i said such a pain in the *** job.... just tell honda to do it...pay the money

So how do I tell if the car already has the under-dash A/C box and the A/C line hookup (on the firewall I assume)?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Turn on the AC and if it gets cold, it has AC.
