i just got a rsx type s from a local mazda dealer ive had it for about 3 days and for some reason the power in first gear seems like its laggin all the way up 5-6k and then it feels like when vtec kicks in it starts to moce but not as strong as the second gear power i may be just anewb in this k20 business plus the ivtec... can someone shed some light on this or if this is how it normally feels how can i get rid of that shiet im starting to hate it...

Is this new or used?
If its new, you're probably paranoid. You migh feel weaker because you're going slower in 1st, and when you hit 2nd you're faster and you feel stronger.
If it's used, then I don't know. Could be you're paranoid or could be something wrong. I'd suggest having a friend with a type-s drive it or go test drive a new type-s and compare it.

thats strange, my wife and I bought an '02 FRP rsx type-s from a mazda dealer here in hillsboro, and I noticed the same damn thing. Its seemed to go away though once I used up all the gas and put premium gas in it.
The type-s engine is 11.0:1 comp and requires 91 octane or better fuel and the computer will reduce the performance of the engine to keep from pinging if lower quality gas is used. Maybe dealers aren't putting premium gas in them? All I know is that I felt a signifigant difference in the engine's responsiveness after refilling with premium and running it down another quarter tank (as I believe at that point it will have burned off all of the old gas)
also the k-series throttle response is considerably different from b-series and d-series... just a whole new beast... you'll figure out how to get it moving quick soon enough ;-)
