And there were some people saying they were "marginally" faster than the current gen GSR...that's pretty crazy. A 14.3 stock...

i test drove a RSX Type S and it seems pretty fast. With my friend in the back and the dealder guy in the pasanger seat it still pulled hard. I got nice big chrips into second gear a few times. It was really funny, because the guy was laughing his *** off, he had never seem someone chirp the tires into second. He said my driving was very impressive. I liked everything about the RSX Type-S except the steering, way to heavy. Even my no-power steering civic cx seems lighter.

I was gonna post it in that forum, but I wanted Integra guys to see that thread. The RSX guys should already know what their cars can do.

my friend that works at ACURA told me that the RSX type-S feels better then the ITR.....i'm talking about both stock.....
he drove it at the track...cause he has to go to trainning for sales for the RSX......
he said the motor feels more torque.....and the suspension is better......

but i dont' know cause i haven't drive it yet.....

dont think so...the engine has a butt load more torque, but hp wise is only 5 more, meaning it has a slight advantage with hp, but hp/weight it loses to the ITR. Suspension, i doubt it's better than an ITR esp since the ITR is so light, and brakes are so strong. BTW i noticed a lower rear tie bar on the Type S, am i correct, it isnt flashy or anything looks like the same material in the GS-R front strut tower bar, just shorter.

A 14.3 seems to be a little much.I went 14.4 in my ITR stock. As you know the cars have the same hp.The Type S has a bit more torque but I don't think it is enough to compensate for the extra wieght. But hell, who know?If it is that fast I can't wait to bump into some young lad wanting to race.

i would hope they'd be in mid 14's with 200HP ****. I dont understand why you guys think thats impressive to me the motor isnt that impressive at all, they just made the stroke alittle longer, then made the bore bigger and add'd 11:1 compression and a 6 speed tranny, and kept the curb weight close to the integra... Hmm i wonder why it's putting out 200hp and 142torque and running mid 14's stock. To me, it's not that impressive. Can anybody tell me why they think it's impressive? to me it just looks like a b20/vtec motor in a integra.

I posted this because everyone and their brother has been knocking the car that they haven't even seen run at the track saying that there is absolutely no way it can be faster than an ITR or Celica GTS or this or that car. A lot of people have test drove the car and came away telling everyone how much weaker it felt compared to their GSR, ITR or Celicas. So if you already knew that the car was this fast because of the engine specs, then you're way ahead of a lot of others who even test drove it.

it's just logical thats all... 200hp with a 6 speed tranny and a curb weight of close to the integra explains it all.

Well damn... if the Rsx type S runs low 14's than imagine what the Rsx Type R would run

Dang why is everyone talking about the RSX as if it was not an Integra... Its still an Integra. Its just carrying an aka name. But IMO the RSX is a very good next generation for the Integra. I've been waiting for it and finally its here. The RSX does have a lot more up its sleeve so I think everyone should just give it sometime and the car probably will dazzle you more as time goes on. Because so far it has got my attention.

I agree, RSX is just a new generation of Integra. I already watch the Best Motoring (Aug 2001) and the new Integra(RSX) Type R Prototype. It looks better than the RSX with wing, and the body kit and the white 17in. wheels. The video did not compare it with the old Type R yet. They just take it on a track and give it a run. I am a Type R owner, but I think the new Type R will be definately faster than the old one. In term of style, I guess the RSX is not my taste, I want a sport car (which the RSX suppose to be) to habe a lower body and wide tread.... I just like a better looking new civic. But the engine is impressive, so as the handling, I test drove the Type S already....
However, I want Honda/Acura to give a better look to it.......
I don't really care if the Type S is faster than my Type R. Cause after all, can't we expect the technology of the new RSX to be better than G3 Teg? It is normal to expect a new gen. to be a faster car than the old gen. I know it is not always the case, look at the new civic..... but honestly, I still think a Type R will be faster than a Type S, but not the new Integra/RSX Type R.

The RSX is NOT a integra. It is an RSX. A new body style, new interior, new drivetrain, new suspension(civic). If it was an integra, it would be called a integra here like it is in japan! Call it what it is.

Godamn, i was so dissapointed when I test drove the new RSX Type-S today at the Acura dealer. It felt much slower than the car I have right now. I expected a whole lot more, but when VTEC-i hit, I didn't feel the rush that I feel in my car right now.

I'm having a real hard time believing a stock RSX-S ran a 14.34 in th 1/4 mile. The car felt like a mid 15 car. I gotta see it to believe it.

Really dissapointed with the New RSX Type-S...

The RSX *IS* an Integra. The only place in the world it's not called "Integra" is here in North America. And for the record, all previous generation Integra's were all based on Civic platforms as well.

The RSX is NOT a integra. It is an RSX. A new body style, new interior, new drivetrain, new suspension(civic). If it was an integra, it would be called a integra here like it is in japan! Call it what it is.

just a correction, it is i-VTEC, not VTEC-i as many have been using

also, many people have bemoaned the lack of the VTEC crossover surge. the simple reason for that is that the K20C engine has three stages, not two like the old B series.

just cuz a car doesn't surge and feel fast doesn't mean it's not fast.

The more surge, the worse the performance. The surge felt when low lobe turns to high lobe is a direct representation of lost power toward the top of the low lobe RPM's... if VTEC was perfect, there would be no rush of power... anyone with me here? Sure it's cool, but so is 200 or 300 something foot pounds that a new camaro puts out at sub 4000 RPM range and spins the tires to death. Doesn't make it faster...

Yeah, the Honda execs decided to name the 4G Integra "RSX" because people were "seeing the vehicle and referring to it as an Integra instead of what it really is -- an Acura" or some garbage like that. Same thing with the Legend which became the RL. I guess some people didn't know who made the Integra or something. Even then, a lot of people get on tehir high and mighty horses when people say their Integras, CLs, TLs, and RLs are Hondas. "No, my car isn't a HONDA, it's an ACURA!" LOL...pop the hood, and what does it say on the motor?

You missed the entire point behind the IT-R's design if you are concerned about how fast it is in a straight line. I'm not jealous of the RSX-S. I know a guy who just bought one. Nice car, but not for me.
