Default attn:higher mileage R owners. check your oil pan bolts.!!

well, a 20 min oil change took me a little over an hour today.

i got under the car, saw some oil, and checked the oil pan bolts, well i was missing one nut, one bolt, and about 3-5 different ones were loose (not real loose, but they use a goood tightening). its odd, i never noticed a loss in oil either. i even had to take the tranny brace off and tighten one under there.

oh and i found out the right side header stud is snapped off. oh well, ill put some RTV on it later.

what made me check them was when i put a 100K mile motor into my other integra, i noticed one of the oil pan bolts was missing. so i figured hell, might as well check the R

check your bolts people.

That is pretty common on high mileage hondas with the rubber oil pan gaskets. They harden and shrink up.

they're tricky bolts
you can't tighten it too much or the rubber will come out of the groove and you will get a leak from the oil pan gasket
just toque it to specs with some crazy silicone
