Default What max RPM can I expect from CTR cams

Hi, I'm brand new here and I was wondering what maximum rpm can I get from CTR cams with CTR valve train. I'd like to get 9800rpm

Here's the engine:
B16A 11.5CR
JUN 4-1 2.5'' straight pipe
STR Cam gears
Agressive Port and polish
3 angles valve job
JUN specs 10k redline ECU
Fuel Pressure regulator
CBR 954RR custom ITB's - not installed yet, working on it...

I revved at 9300rpm with my stock b16a cams with stock valve springs and stock cams timing and the engine wanted more!!

Thanks a lot!

why do you want to rev to 9800?? just so you can?? that is STUPID unless you are making power there...and VERY VERY VERY few cams make power that high...

you do know the added stress' an engine see with it being rev'd that high??

ctr cams will never make power to 9800 rpms....

lucky if they make power to 8800!!!

also, on your comment where you said that you revved to 9300 on stock B16 valvetrain, is that on the stock tach? if so, it was more realistically like 8800 or less. the bottom end also has its limitations. i.e. rod bolts.

8800 seems to be very good for the max power!

but when I said I revved till 9300 I knew there was a peak at like 8500 max and yes that was on my jdm stock tach that shows 9500 max.

but considering that I'd TEST my engine and make it rev like 9500 are the valve springs capable?

thx

I've never heard about stock valvetrain allowing to rev above 9k rpm, that is not possible, 8.5k seems to be the max, having a risk to valve floating...

I think you're lucky you didn't float a valve into your piston if you were in fact revving that high. Also, if by the engine, "wanting more" you mean that it was still making power at 9300 on b16 cams I'd need to see a dyno sheet to believe it. Maybe I'm misinterpreting you, I hope so at least.

but now my question is not where the max power is, i'll see it when i'll go on dyno. thanks for you approximations.

by experience, I can tell to others that stock b16a valvetrain can handle 9000rpm+ with stock settings.

I'd very glad to see someone owning ctr cams setup or experienced a setup like this answering my question.
