I do not think it is possible to obtain 500 whp on a street legal honda car because the "street legal exhaust" will not permit it.
This is what was published from my favorite 500 whp integra in the SCC 09/2001 issue:
B18c1, JE pistons, crower rods, Ferria valves, Holeshot cam gears, Type-r manifold, ported and polished heads, decked and o-ringed block, ductile iron sleeves. Garrett t3/t4, spearco, open exhaust (Not Street legal) HKS waste gate and blow off valve, custom intercooler piping, JG throttle body. Accel DFI ingition crane HI-6, crane ps92.
491 hp
386 tq

Regardless in reality you won't be putting no where near 400 whp or 500 whp for that matter unless you constantly run around at 20+ psi and carry c16 fuel. Max psi is about 14-16 on 93 octane. All that big hp is only to your favor when on slicks and at the track, not the street.

I just bought a drum of race gas.. 118 octane. I only live about 4 miles from where I work.. so I dont mind the $6.50/gallon.. I never get caught on low boost.

Damn I was just thinking what that would cost me on my 95 mile each way commute......
gettin 28 mpg average... that would be just over $220 a week for gas!!! 'Course I got a dyno waiting for me at work so I would always be ready for a full load test run!

not possible. In order for it to be street legal, it would have to run a catalyst, full exhaust, run on pump gas, etc. You're not going to make that much power for very long on pump gas, if it even survives the first attempt. 350-400hp is far more attainable.
should have asked who drives a 500HP honda on the street?, leave out the word "legal" and a couple more will come out of the woodwork.

hold on! im confused? why is it illegal to drive on 118 octane gas? what is illegal about that? and not all cars have to pass emissions.. What if u live in some kick county where they only do inspections every 4 years.. I figure if your not gonna get in trouble for it then its legal..
Yes. Not with a Honda 4 cylinder though...it's possible, but not likely. First you've got to narrow it down to people that have enough $$$ to get 500whp, then narrow them down to people who live in emission testing-less areas, and then narrow them down to the guys who just said "screw it, I'm building a race car." like Christian Rado did with his first Integra. With a V8, or even a eclipse four I know people that are right around 500whp, but they most definently have to pay their way through emission/inspection.
i don't know about street legal........but i'll be driving it on the streets. i will have registration, emissions, and tags.
