Default tach stops working after vtec hits in 99-00 with gsr cluster w h22a motor

the h22a motor was a automatic to begin with had the dx cluster so swaped out for the gsr (this is the 4th one to do so i have checked all the wires and all)

when vtec crosses over the tach just falls to 0 then comes back to life once i let off and it falls out of vtec could someone explain what could poss be goin on

thanks logan

Maybe a bad connection from the tach to the dizzy? Maybe something is causing a short with the tach wire (I believe it's the blue wire on the dizzy) when VTEC is engauged? That's a shot out in the dark but I would check it.
