Default lowering car?

im about to lower my civic coupe, and i was wondering if i need a spring compressor to compressing the springs or not. im going to use a new set of coilover springs, and the stock shocks. is it just a plug and play kind of thing or do i need a compressor? thanks

most ppl will say u need one but i use a different method. when the shocks are off, place it on the ground, take a tire and put it over it and stand on it. it will keep the springs from shooting
