If the car is cutting at 3 it usually means its either the ecu (solid light) or the dizzy is gone.

my guess its the ecu.
3200 is about the range for cut off on safe mod.

Most common to go out (especially on an engine that has been sitting for a year) is the igniter unit in the distributor. You can try scraping the carbon build up off the terminals in it or replace the igniter itself.
If it's acting like it's redlining at 4000 one day and 3000 the next.. it's the igniter. very common. Search "replace igniter "

Thats your answer - thanks for using honda-tech

the engine did sit for a while it actually came from japan and is an 88 motor im getting a code 4 and 6 but a code 4 is a crank sensor and these thing i thoguh only have cam sensors which is part of the dizzy.... remember this was converted from dual point to multi point and i had to do the vtec harness i double checked all the wires and tried alot of different things the site said but nothing i dont think its the ECU....

Either get those ECU codes cleared. (Could be the ECU is in safe mode, possibly)
Or get your ignitor cleaned or get a new one for your distributor.

3200 cut off sounds like the ECU is running in safe mode. I've done the DPFI to MPFI conversion and possibly it could be your wiring is off somehow.

Recheck it again.
