hey i want hood dampers but 155$ is redicalous i have a 98 coupe and i dunno what else ya to do achieve the same effects...any ideas?

you can get hood dampers from vision instead of tein since they manufacture it for them.

 

I saw a DIY on here, some guy did it for like 15 dollars and it held up REALLY well.

 

ya thats more what im lookin for but i searched and didnt find anything

 

i pulled a set of hatch struts from a passat wagon at the junkyard for $15. i only used one and it holds the hood fine. at each end of the strut i used the ball joints that were on the passat. for one end i just replaced the middle bolt on the top of the fender with the ball joint, and the other end i had to make a simple little bracket to hold the other end near where the hood hinge bolts to the hood.
i'll post up a DIY with pics as soon as i can get them onto my computer

 

thanks that would be a big help...im just worried cuz im not a welder or anything so i dunno if iw ould be able to creat a bracket
