vtec kickin in too early?

Default vtec kickin in too early?

hey guys i just bought a b16 for my car a couple months ago and i was wondering if the vtec is kickin in too early and if so what could be the cause..its a 91 civic hatchback with b16a-y1 tranny, obd0,aebs intake manifold, dc headers, aem short ram intake..well anyways vtec kicks in at 4500 every gear...good or bad?? thank you and please no rude comments..

mine does the same, pr3, i swapped ecu's and my buddies was 5100, i swear they were drunk when they made these things

theres no point to mess with ur vtec xover point if u dont know what ur doing....raising it higher doesnt necessarily mean that ur gonna make power gains

But, it does mean your going to have a better efficient gas miliage on the freeway. My vtec kicks in at about 4900 and That's just at 80mph. That's just about the average speed on the highway around my house. I know for a fact that vtec doesnt allow you to have great gas mileage. Thats why I'm going to raise it to 5200 by mr. DrDisco69 himself haha

that worked for ur situation...but everyones setup is not the same...what kinda tranny r u running...i had a y1 on my b16 ef and i was at 4400 all day long at 80 mph...on 195/50/15 tires...but yeah i can imagine it must be pretty annoying to fall in n out of vtec while just driving....i had mine set at 6k though..but that was with the old cams...its at 7k now
