Default car dies randomly?

when your alternator goes bad, does it happen all of a sudden and randomly? or do other things happen before and finally it all comes to an end for it. just want to know cause mine kinda happened randomly at night while driving home from work. the car worked for about 2 days after the swap then it shitted on me.

So it runs, but randomly all power is lost?

Check for a loose ground.

Bumping is soo ******* anoying, but whatever.

when just sitting there, your battery voltage should be around 12 volts. When you get the car running the voltage across the battery should be around 14 volts. If it is not then your alternator is not charging your battery.

If the battery voltage is less than 12 volts, like 10 or 9 or whatever, it is more than likely dead.

we took the battery out of the car and it read 7.5 i think. i was just driving one day and the speedo stopped working. later that night my rpm went uot then the cd player started to turn on n off. soon after that, everything started to just dim including the headlights and such. i pulled over to the shoulder, turned car off, then tried to crank it again but all i hear is clicks. the car was literally dying while i was pulling over cause when i put some gas on it, it wuld just bog and barely get newhere

*check all grounds and the plug to the alternator. tried using another battery but it died also. doestn start nemore. jump started it but then died withing a min.

thats what im thinking also. have any idea if rebuilt ones are worht it? alot of people seem to have bad experience with build alternators. is it hard to remove the alternator from a 99 civic coupe with a gsr swap?
