Default Shaking at highway speeds.

When I drive my car anywhere from 60 on up I get a little shake in my steering wheel. It gets worse when I am changing lanes or moving the steering wheel from side to side a little on the highway.

Ive put new tires on, had them rebalanced a few times and also rotated. Had my brakes done and new shocks, plus an alignment. It still does it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I should check? My 01 ITR has about 140,000 miles on the chassis. Could it be that maybe my bushings are worn down?

Ive had the suspension checked a few times but nobody has come up with anything wrong. I know my rear main seal is leaking but I don't think that would have anything to do with it or could it? Im am really getting tired of this problem. When I got the car is was smooth as silk. Its not real bad but just annoying.

Thanks alot guys.

it could be bushings are worn or a CV joint.

i have the same problem, had 2 new front tires, got them balanced twice. did an alignment. Doesn't share at 60 mph, more like > 75mph.

but right now i just ignore it as much as i could... it's weird that new highway roads, It doesn't shake as bad..

Is your car dropped? mine is...

Could be an axle, They like to do that from time to time. But it usually means its time for a new one(s).

bad tires, alignment, bent rim, wheel off balance, bad bushings, bad ball joints, and occasionally bad tie rods

Consider yourself corrected as per Mires issue.

Unless he applies the brakes and notices any shake or pull or whatnot then it wouldn't be the rotors.

If he's just driving along and notices his symptoms then what 96CivicBoostCoupe
listed are the culprits to look at.

As per your own issue, it could be as little as just rebedding in the pads to more depending on exactly what has been done and exactly the symptoms.

Could possibly be a bad wheel bearing also, but most likely an axle or tie rod end.

With my experience, in only extreme conditions do bad suspension components make your car vibrate at highway speeds. When I say extreme, a balljoint thats about to pop out on ya.

Have the tires rebalanced. You know I hate to say this but rarely do new tires have to come back due to human error installing the tires. Check for a bent wheel. If the tire installer is good, he should catch this during the initial install.
