Default JDM B18B Questions.

Hey whats up guys. I was looking around at JDM B18B's and I noticed they have 5 hp more than usdm b18b1's. I was wondering if the change in hp was from compression or something else? If it's the compression, is it from different pistons or something else?

My other question is. Since JDM motors are RHD, I'm guessing that would make the wiring harness backwards also? Is there a way to get by using the JDM one? I know some of you are going to say, "just flip it around". But even if you flip it aren't some of the plugs not going to reach? I duno.

Alrite thanks.

The advantage is not having to pay cash for another one.... But yeah, I was just wanting to know if there is any way to extend the wires to make it work out.

Yup, people extend wires on the JDM harness to make it work.

cool thanks. Any idea if its a detriment to the effectiveness of the harness at all? And what gauge should be used?

Are you willing to go through ALL that work for 5 horsepower? Really?

If you are going to extend, don't use any other gauge other than the stock one.

go through all what trouble? I'm not getting a jdm motor for the 5hp. I'm doing it because I need a motor and hmotorsonline.com only sells jdm b18b's which have +5hp. Duno about u, but I don't really consider extending wires a troublesome task. I just wanted to know about the compression because i plan to boost in the future but I guess the added compression wouldn't make a HUGE difference.

I'm also aware that it would be best to use stock gauge wire but I wanted to know what awg that is.
