wat should i do about damping the noise inside my civic?
i bought a 94 civic si hatchback off my friend n had no i dea wat i was gettin myself into:p... anyway the carpet was stripped and its got a tin can exhaust that could sound off an alarm... juss curious wat kinda things i could do to try n kill some of the noise cuz it is almost too much to bare...
If you dont mind spending some money and adding a little/lot of weight to the car, you could use some dynomat and get a new carpet for the car. That will silence the hell outta the car.
hmmm... how much of the dynomat do u think i would need becuz cost is so wat an issue and i kno a new carpet is goin to cost a few 100 on its own...
it'll be about $200 for enough dynamat to do the whole car. and it does make a difference, did the whole kit on my classic stang, and made it a completely different car.
spend the money and get a better muffler, actually go to a junkyard and get a OEM one, cause the "performance mufflers" make a power difference that you will not notice and the cheap 40$ ebay ones are too loud to be legal and sound like ****.
if you dont wanna spend the money for a whole exhaust system, get a resonator from a parts catalog. pick one up for $40 shipped easy. will quiet it down.
Spray the inner structure with aerosol roof patch. That **** makes a lot more difference than I thout would be possible.

I'm putting serious consideration into having the rear of my hatch Rhino lined. I've already pulled my backseats so it would look fine i think. Plus, if you ever need to throw anything in the back, it will be fine. You would think it would quiet it down a lot too, at least inside.

Hey man, it's your car. Keep in mind though, if you do go down that road that you keep all the bolt holes for mounting seats and seatbelts clear of that rhyno liner goop, unless you want your car to never pass a legit inspection again.
