NEED HELP ASAP PROBLEM WITH MY MOTOR?
Well guys i have a problem with my car 00 civic dx with a b16 swap , recently i was driving it sunday everything was fine, drove it to work monday in the morning everything was fine then too, hot day outside and all took it to lunch and has soon as a hit the gas the car started to supperd and hesistate and when came to a light it stalled. It probably stalled about 5 or 6 times but wouldn't do it until i came to a stop or pushed the clutch in. I pulled the codes on it p0172 system to rich. I recently had a o2 sensor problem has well it has a brand new o2 and i changed the spark plugs last night and cleared the code.I then drove it home spurred again put didn't stall. I let it sit a while drove it again first 10 min was fine then spurred again when i shift and step on the gas idle will go down to 200 and stall. It has a brand new iac valve already on it. I have one day to fix this problem help me out guys need your help asap.

Re: (vtecgod)
just talk to one of my buddies at honda he said map sensors don't usually go bad he said maybe something with not having the rear o2 sensor in the car but i haven't had the o2 in the for two years car was a dx so have to run wire for second o2. it's been running fine for two years with just one in there.

Re: (vtecgod)
could this be a map sensor problem there are no codes for the map right now haven't checked it since friday haven't driven either. po172 system too rich coming up. i put an aftermarket o2 sensor in there could this be causing this because the o2 sensor is not an honda one.

I priced one from honda yesterday retail $254.00 cost $198.00. should i try to put a new map sensor on it, there's no codes for the map right now.

Re: NEED HELP ASAP PROBLEM WITH MY MOTOR? (vtecgod)
have the cap and rotor been replaced yet???
buddy of mine had a problem similar to that on his 99 si.
give more info as far as when it does it. or what you do to get it to do it.
after re-reading though, it only doing it at idle is weird. there are things that the computer has to compensate for when at idle. when it sees a load at idle it has to kick up the idle. give some more info.

Re: NEED HELP ASAP PROBLEM WITH MY MOTOR? (91T-Rex)
Well it does it right when i start it up now before it was doing it , i would start it up idle fine go to drive it take off in first gear shift in two second then step on the gas it would bogg down bad and when i come to a stop almost push the clutch in it would stall out. i put a auto zone o2 sensor in there a couple of weeks ago it ran fine for a few days then started to act up after that. my friend seems to think it's the injector maybe staying open. My friend from honda drove it last week and said maybe something in the ignition. The cap rotor and plugs and wires have been replaced. The only thing that i am thinking is the map sensor or the o2 but the map is throwing no codes.

Now it's doing it at start up too. It's bogging and have to give it gas too keep it running.

Deff check your dizzy out; if you have other friends that are in the scence and have a similiar motor you shuld try swapping out his dizzy and throw it out yours doesn,t have to be permanent. If you have a buddy at honda this should be no problem.
And what is the exact code that it is throwing also?

Re: NEED HELP ASAP PROBLEM WITH MY MOTOR? (spoolingb20)
The code that it's throwing a system too rich code i tryed swapping o2 sensor's in the header yesterday because i have an aftermarket o2 in there right now. i swapped out that one and put in a honda one still bogging out the tailpipe when idleing.

Re: NEED HELP ASAP PROBLEM WITH MY MOTOR? (vtecgod)
i work at a honda dealership, one thing i have seen with that same kind of problem that your explaining is map sensor issues. before you replace the map sensor check the wires to it ive seen them break inside the connector and cause those issues. just try giving the wires a little tug and see if they pull out....
