Default 2004 clutch slip

I have about 9,000 miles on my 04 and it seems that my clutch is slipping when I shift from 2nd to 3rd gear at 8,000+ rpm. Is anyone experiencing this? Other than this I love the car it's my dream come true.

Are you pushing it real hard? You sure its not your limited slip?

It's the delay valve on the 04+ models. It creates a clutch slippage when shifting at high RPMs.

You can either a) replace it with a 00-03 version which doesn't have a delay valve and costs around $60 or b) remove the delay valve of the 04+ tranny.

Delay valve was to protect the tranny and differential. There were a lot of differential failures on stock cars.

Honda listened to complaints from people who don't want it to be a raw sports car. To ease clutch engagement, just like softening springs and so on.
