Default y7 to y8 IM

ok. ive got a pretty close to stock y7 motor (yea, yea, sucks to be me). but anyways, i got my hands on the y8 IM and did the swap. i did all the research i could find but obviously it wasn't enough. i reused the TB off of the y7 and changed the spring so that the throttle cable would mount correctly, i also plugged up the spot for the iacv on the back of the manifold since the y7 TB already has the iacv on it. I HAVE CHECKED AND CHECKED AND CHECKED for a possible place for a vacuum leak including the air injection holes in the manifold which it didn't have. nonetheless the car is surging at idle pretty bad. not only that but the throttle wants to stay open for a couple seconds even after i let off the gas. i'm seriously stumped. i know enough about hondas to get around but im definately no tech. any help or ideas would be great. this is my daily driver and i'd like to have it running decent. thanks in advance.

Check the back of the manifold there is a small cruise control nipple on the driverside. Plug it up.

You reused the y7 throttle body gasket instead of the y8 one right? Also when you removed the y7 intake manifold did you make sure to get all the existing gasket material off the head and the y8 manifold flange?

yes i reused the TB gasket from the y7, i also reused the IM gasket from the y7, they both looked okay, no rips or tears or anything. i assumed they would both fit, was i wrong?

Find a y8 intake manifold gasket for a 96-98 civic. That might just be the culprit right there.

hey man just replace all your gaskets it will make a big difference. I just did that swap I just didnt finish cause I didnt want to cut the injector wires. so just replace all your gaskets and make sure that you dont have any rips in them. oh also get the gaskets from honda no were else. let me know how it turns out.

when you replaced the throttle cable rotor bit when ya swapped it onto your stock y7 TB, which spring did you use? the y7 or y8 one? cause the first time i put in the wrong one, and the throttle didnt close, i had to put my foot behind the pedal. when i figured what it was, i put on the other spring and all was well. Please re-check those two sensors on the TB that have the same plug shape.
