throttle body swap on y7 to y8 possible
so my mechanice sey my throttle body on on my 98 civic ex is bad wich is y8 single cam i have a y7 throttle body laying around would it work? reason why im pressing the gas goes down stops TO 1500 THEN DROPS TO 900-1000

Yeah, they're exactly the same other than the little spring mechanism. Just swap that over and you can use it!

Maybe it's year dependent? My car is a 96-98 though. I swapped to a Y8 manifold and am still using my original TB.

No, I'm not sure what TB you're talking about but the d16y7 TB has an iacv built into it, the ports don't match up to the y8 intake manifold...all it will do is cause idle issues through a big vacuum leak.

Oh ok... that's what it is I think. My car is manual, but I think the Y8 manifold I bought was from an automatic. The ports definitely match up, it's been running perfectly for two years.
