Default PROJECT: SWITCH-A-ROO

First, let me give you a little bit of background about this project. In September 2004, i bought a 91 crx si with the body work all done, and swapped out the GSR motor from my crx dx. Today i found out the frame on the CRX Si is bent beyond repair, so, it looks like i've got my work cut out for me, time to swap EVERYTHING back to the DX, and then some. Im also going to be swapping the rear disc from the Si to the DX along with the booster etc. So ive decided to document the whole process from start to finish. Today is the start of PROJECT: SWITCH-A-ROO!!!

Welp, today i got the two cars in the garage and jacked up. im starting to tear apart the DX engine pay to paint it black, i figure this time ill do things clean and take my time. (last time i was pressed for time!!)

A rastafarian wrist band

i brought it to a highly regarded frame shop in town, and they put it up on the frame rack and checked it out for me. Today i also stopped by Maaco for an estimate, and they told me they can't color match my purple paint w/o the code, which i 'conveniently' dont have. grrrr

The rasta band is actually an Element wrist band i found in my garage, and i put it on for some 'mad JDM bling' yo!! LoL

As far as progress goes, ive gotten the green DX pretty much ready for paint. i just need to take off rear bumper and taillights ( i might end-up sanding down the body), but now i just need to find a place to paint it.

So it is to bent for the street but it is to bend for the track that is the real question here?

the rear left tire, rubs against the rear fender when i go over bumps (big or small) and when i take right turns going faster than 15 mph, so i'd say it's just too bent PERIOD. street or track

Well that just FREAKING sucks! Car looks so clean, hopefully if you sell the shell someone will pull it enough and get it out on to some sort of pavement again.

so what are you going to do with the shell? where is your virgin metal, cause I need a rear driver side quarter panel to to weld in where I did a shitty bondo job on mine a few years back.

yeah, i have full interior i want to install, but now that this came up, im not sure. for the interior i want the nice, clean, stock, JDM look. take a look at Randy Gagan's CRX.

more on this clean real RHD EF8 here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1141019

as for the outside, i like the way it is now, but i want to spruce it up JDM style. the only real bummer is that my JDM style carbon fiber hood finally showed up , but now i cant really use it for a while

I like Wayne's (JUN CR-X) crx, both the coffee one from teamrice.org(RIP it crashed) and his new CW white one!! his story has given me inspiration to do things right this time!

also, if anyone can help me out with info about getting the color code for color matching, it will be appreciated. I think the color might be that GSR super sonic Blue Color [B-90P] what do you all think?

Have fun with it, also what wheels are those. The paint does look very similar to the GSR.
