Default Just bought a $50 car!!!

Okay i just bought a 91 3 door civic dx for 50 dollars. It was my friends neighbor and didnt need it anymore. It's okay on the out side but the engine is the problem.

When you step on the gas, light blue smoke comes out of the exhast, theres oil in the combustion camber because the spark plugs were kind of oily. Any cluses where the oil is getting in?

The spark plugs are oily because you need to replace the valve cover gasket.

...or because of the spark plug o-rings. they're on the inside of the valve cover..

Thats so dumb when people say that, you bought a 50$ car for a reason and you'r motor is done, so swap in a b series motor and expect to pay anywhere from 1500-3000$ to do it, o yeah thats good advice.

How bout, at the best possible deal you could go with is buy a sohc zc for 350 or for 550 a Zc dohc, and throw it in they're. Or a 95-95 dx if you got a dx hatch with dual point injection and swap out the intake manifold on the new used motor, and you are set to drive it again.

Got any pics of this $50 car?

But ya, your best bet is to just swap in another SOHC for around $350 and call it good.

Total spent on the car would be $400

Swap in a b-series cause of the weight do an allmotor set-up. Make it a killer sleeper. I did it with my 4-door ef Fully built b16 bored and stroked 230hp to the wheels. Make people go what the F#@k was that.

Does it smoke on start-up? If it does generally it would be the valve guides. If it smokes (like you said) while giving it gas its probably rings.

Run a compresion test, this will give you clues as to what is wrong in there. Theres of course a few other things it could be like the grommets in the valve cover perhaps.

my guess is the rings... they're too expensive so im just going to drop a long block and bolt it on. it has minor rust... its a minnesota car, but its a four speed.
