Good compressiona across the board...but oil on #1 and #3 spark plugs?

Good compressiona across the board...but oil on #1 and #3 spark plugs?

So guys,

My GF's DX civic has great compression across the board...

175-180-175-180

Yet there is oil on Spark plugs # 1 and # 3 only. What could be causing this? Valve seals or valves?

I'll bet it's on the threads and not the electrodes....which means you have leaky valve cover seals around those sparkplug holes. Replace them and you should be fine.

Just like he said above.. there are o-rings gaskets between the spark plug tubes and the valve cover gasket. They're only like $3 a piece at the Honda dealer. They are notorious for leaking. May want to buy a new valve cover gasket as well since you've gonna be removing that too. i've reused them before with no problems, but i usually just change them so avoid leaking.

What about the o-rings between the rocker arm assembly and the head. i recently changed my head gasket and found this out about my EG. I had oil around the threads of my plugs and when i changed the o-rings it stopped.
