Default Code 45 On........Then...............Off Again??

after adjusting my cam gears, i keep throwing a fuel metering too rich code (45). But then after driving around for a day or so, the light will go off. i know i prolly need to lean it out a bit, which i will, But is the light supposed to go out on it's own like that?

yea people have told me, that when i am racing, i am shooting alot of black smoke is coming out of my tailpipe. SO i guess i am running rich on the top side. But i will turn my B & M FPR about 1 or 2 psi down, and see if it fixes the CEL.
