Please help with tranny.
Hey, I'm grinding pretty rough when putting into reverse on my 92 civic si, it is a manual and im sort of lost. have tried going in reverse for a few minutes to try and get it back in sync, helped slightly. Any pointers?
Dude I know your new but this is an easy one thats been covered I know cause I answered it myself just a week ago, but let me help you out.
The reason it does that is because theres no syncro for reverse gear, what I do is go into first and just sorta rock forward a BIT in the car, like a quarter tire revolution or something and then shift into reverese.
Sometimes it lines up fine sometimes its a real pain in the *** unless you do my trick to move the geard a tad so they'll line up.
Hope that helps you out

Thanks for the advice
. I had no clue there wasnt a syncro. It's got 147k miles on it. Im getting a new clutch, t.b., and pressure plate next weekend.
