my younger brother suggested that i do something with the governor to increase top speed on my 89 civic, and im not sure what he's talking about. he doesnt know much about it either. but can anyone teach me a bit about it? also, where can i find it, and what do i do to adjust it? thanks a lot

 

don't think it safe......... unless it's a drag purpose only.

 

If you wanna get a good rush build a fast accelerating car. Not 1 that is gonna break land-speed records. Your more likely to kill yourself and many others trying to break 130/140mph than running 90mph in a 1/4 mile. IMO be safe, think smart.

 

I will highly doubt you would get pass the governors speed anyways

Different tranny...HF tranny has the greatest top speed but it will take you forever to get there....

 

We don't have a governor at OBD-0, or has it been there all along and just no one has told me about it?

 

well if this sais anything

i got a d15 with w/e tranny that has, it topped out at like 100 along the highway, took like 5 miles to get anywhere passed 70

 

well my pwo has a speed govener at 113 after that its just like hitting the rev limiter at 8000, i got it chipped and now no govener, maybe he has a jdm ecu? i think all jdm ecu have a speed govener

 

Last time I checked a governor just did bureaucratical stuff and wasted money. Nothing to do with top speed

 

Who cares about top speed anyway ? My GSR does nearly 150, but only low 15's in the quarter..

having a car that can do 130+ MPH DOESNT MAKE IT FAST.
