We were putting the alternate audio console in my eg while listening to the radio. Like the highly intelegent person I am I had the ignition in the 'on' position, playing the radio, while I was hooking up the lighter. Long story short (no pun intended) I shorted out my radio. I was able to locate a blown fuse and changed it, but that didn't bring the radio back. There isn't a fuse on the radio harness, I checked, and now the radio and the power point (lighter) doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appriciated
check with a digital multimeter what ur missing on the back of the radio .... most likely its a constant source of power ... see if u have constant 12 volts ... if u do move on to switch power test that by turning ignition on then wire turns to 12 volts turn off goes to 0 volts.... then test for ground by continuity ... if constant is gone run new constant cut the current wire and attatch a new one same for the others.... hope that mite help gl
Check under your hood in the fuse box. There should be a 7.5amp fuse that often goes out for radio power. I'm 100% there is one in a DC2, pretty sure it's in your EG as well.

Just thought id chime in..
I was there when this n00b did it.
All of the fuses, under dash and under hood, were checked and the 15 amp Accessories fuse was blown under dash. We replaced it and its still not working. Then he checked the 10amp fuse in the back of the stereo, and it was fine.. and there were no inline fuses on that circuit that we saw.

just thought I'd chime in... double check all the fuses under the hood too. I know the lighter is powered off accessory, but I had a lady who's kid kept putting pennies into the cig lighter and blow her fuses. Even though the cig ran off of the accessory, it was the 7.5 under the hood that blew.

Start testing for power at the plug going into the HU and at every connection up line till you get to the oem radio harness, you need a multimeter, DVM or at least a test light , if you do not find power, [both acc. and constant] at the oem radio harness, then recheck the fuses, don't just look at them, test them with a meter or replace them with new ones, I have replaced 100s of fuses that looked good.

Ahh yes, LOL...beware of the infamous "Looks Good" fuse. Always check with a multimeter. Need 12v on both sides.
