Door problem on 99 Civic
I have a question that hopefully someone can help with. I have a 99 Civic LX Sedan, and I am having an issue that I can't figure out. For some reason, the car thinks there is a door open. It is not allowing me to lock the doors while driving, the interior light stays on (I turned it off), and when I just have the key in the ignition it beeps like the door is open.
I checked all of the doors and the buttons they bump against when closing, and they seem to be okay. Thanks for any help!

Well I know the door triggers on the civics are negative triggers so my guess would be that you have a bad button or one of your wires leading to the door triggers has worn insulation or what-not and has grounded out. I would individually unscrew each door trigger and check the plug behind it, and individually unplug each one with the other doors shut to single out the bad wire. if you unscrew the trigger and your dome light turns off you found the bad switch/source of problem. Have fun electrical is a big pain in the ***.
